Jaye was still getting used to to the life on Rhodes Island and it wasn't as easy as he had thought it to be. Not because the place was unwelcoming, or because of the people. No, it was all on him and the fact that he was used to keeping odd schedules, sometimes working till late in the night and sleeping during the day. Rhodes operated on normal people's schedules. Get up in the morning, have breakfast, work, have lunch, work, time off, have dinner, sleep. It was a very brief summary, or at least that's what it looked like to Jaye.
He tried adjusting, but then he would only fall asleep at some odd spot. He would still stay up late, unable to fall asleep. Sometimes he'd just stare at the ceiling or read, but tonight he wandered out of the room assigned to him and decided to take a walk. It took him to the deck first, the night sky a familiar sight, whether he was here or in Lungmen slums, but it was cold out here and probably too risky at this hour, so he went back inside. This time his legs took him to the canteen. Maybe a snack, maybe a glass of milk would help him get to sleep easier.
Apparently, though, he wasn't the only one suffering from a case of insomnia. The kitchen was already occupied by a tall feline and after a moment, and a good look at the man's face, Jaye remembered the name. Broca. He had studied what files Hoshiguma provided him with about his new employer, of a sort, and new lodgings. He wanted to know the people he was working with. Then again, files only offered so little information.
"Hey," he announced his arrival with a greeting, "Whatever you found, I can cook it, if you're willing to share."
